I was so excited when I saw the first trailer of the Mummy III. I marked on my mind to watch this movie. I am a movie cinema fanatic, I won't let a nice movie to passed by without watching it either in the cinema or online.
Then I heard some comments about this movie. Some say that it's a crap movie. I was losing my interest before though. But then I still went to see the movie with my own eyes.
I was not that prepared actually that day. I even microwaved a pop-corn before I went out of the house and come to the cinema. It served as my lunch as well. At the beginning of the show, it was kinda boring honestly. It was in foreign language and they only put subtitles on the bottom part of the screen. I thought I was just watching a TV show. What I mean is that I expect to watch a Mummy movie, and not a foreign action movie. Then on the next scene, Brendan Fraser appeared. He was learning how to catch a fish using a fishing rod. When he was pissed because he couldn't catch any fish, he used his gun. He said some line before shooting at the fish but I already forgot what is it. But I am sure that it wasn't impressive or it doesn't have the "cool" factor that I expected to see on his first scene on the movie. They replaced Rachel Weiz to an older actress. We could've consider it caused by the storyline but the way she acted was "corny." There was a time that Brendan and her were alone in a room. She was flirting and seducing him. I had the goosebumps, really! How can they even think of inserting that scene in the movie?! Anyway there are new casts in the film. One of them is the Asian actress, Isabella Leong as Lin. She is so pretty and cute! Although she didn't act that great in the movie, she is still pretty! (hahaha what's the relevance?!)
Another "corniness" in the movie is when they casted the "White Big Foot" which I forgot what they really called. We know that those are not true. Why did they even put them in the story then? I mean there are lots of ancient/legendary animals or creatures taken from the Chinese history but why did they have to include these big foots in the movie?! Another "corniness" as well is when the burried slaves who died from the making of The Great Wall, they became alive! Some don't have arms, legs, or eyes. And some were holding items on farming. They became alive just to have their revenge? Anyway, enough of these non-sense. It is up to you if you want to watch this movie, and if you like it after watching it. But I do not recommend this movie to anyone except for those who have nothing else to do. I'm gonna watch the Eagle's Eye next... |
